Welsh Federation of Coarse Anglers Awards
Each year the Executive Secretary invites affiliated Clubs to nominate people who they feel deserves some form of recognition.
As in many sports more often than not the volunteer in sport often gets forgotten especially those that work tirelessly for their sport and for their clubs so that others may benefit. This is one way of showing your support for those who deserve such recognition by nominating them for an award.
The awards are about recognising the efforts and commitment to the sport of angling and recognising those who are willing to help others with no personal gain other than self-satisfaction. They are also for those who perform and achieve success at competitive level within our sport.
Nominations must come from an affiliated member club committee member or members.
The awards are presented each year at the main Annual General Meeting of the WFCA.
The number of awards available is determined by the category.
To assist you we have listed the different types of awards available.
Those that have been successful will receive a formal letter inviting them to the AGM.
To submit an application sends an e-mail to robindarker@aol.com providing the following information.

Contact Number
Name of person being nominated
Who has endorsed the nomination?
Outline why you think the person nominated deserves the award.
You will then be contacted by the WFCA Executive Secretary to discuss the nomination further.
All applications must be in by the 20th November each year.

Long Service Award 10 Years |

This is awarded to those who have actively served on a club committee for a period of 10 years. |
Long Service Award 15 Years |
No restrictions |
This is awarded to those who have actively served on a club committee for a period of 15 years. |
Long Service Award 20 Years |
No restrictions |
This is awarded to those who have actively served on a club committee for period for 20 years. |
Long Service Award 25 Years or more |
No restrictions |
This is awarded to those who have actively served on a club committee for 25 years or more. |
Angler of the Year Award |
1 Award Only |
This is awarded to the angler who has achieved outstanding success within the competitive area of our sport and can be adult or junior. |
Young Angler of the Year Award |
1 Award Only |
This is awarded to a junior angler under the age of 18. This can be awarded for his or her contribution in helping others. It can also be awarded for personal achievements. |
Club Secretary of the Year Award |
1 Award Only |
This is awarded to the Secretary of an affiliated Club for service, commitment to club development, and achievements as secretary. |
Coach of the Year Award |
1 Award Only |
This is awarded to the person who has contributed greatly towards coaching and development within a club environment and who has played a significant roll in developing youth participation within the club and within the community. |
Club of the Year Award |
1 Award Only |
This is awarded to the club who has contributed towards the development of angling within the community and within the club. It also takes into account all other aspects such as coaching, promoting good practices, and general core club development achievements and future plans. |
Service to Club Award |
No Restrictions |
A club can nominate any person from within the club who has helped to maintain club waters, or who has developed a web site and maintains it. Or it can be for any other purpose that the club wishes to recognise or award an individual for the work he or she does on behalf of the club. |
Web of the Year Award |
1 Award |
This is awarded to the club that has developed the best Website that promotes the WFCA, angling in general, coaching and development, competitive activities etc. |
The WFCA will consider any further categories of awards if you feel that you have someone who deserves recognition but doesn’t fall into any of the categories listed. Just send an e-mail with details and it will be considered.
