WFCA Regional Angling Centres

Regional Centres

The Welsh Federation of Coarse Anglers is committed to the development of our sport both in terms of participation and long term sustainability.

As part of our National Development Programme and Review of Coarse Angling in Wales we have identified key areas for development and growth and for new areas to be developed.

The WFCA plan to introduce three Regional Approved Angling Centres by November 2007. These centres will play a significant roll in our Coaching and Development Strategy for Coarse Angling in Wales.

The areas that we are looking at are 2 locations in North Wales and 1 location in the Cardiff and Newport Area. (Further locations will be introduced during 2008) Our aim is to have a network of 12 centres throughout Wales by January 2009.

The facilities selected shall be able to provide, Classroom facilities, a venue for fishing, accommodation and a Team of dedicated registered approved Angling Coaches.
National Angling Centre

These facilities will provide a facility for those who wish develop their skills further with professional support and assistance. Also to encourage wider and greater participation amongst children and females and for those people with disabilities.

These facilities will also provide training for those who wish to pursue the competitive pathway of our sport especially amongst juniors.

If you would like your club or fishery to be considered then we would like to hear from you.
